Over the Garden Wall is a miniseries that explores liminal spaces; the in-between moments where life, death, reality, and fantasy intersect.

The show opens with its protagonists, Wirt and Greg, hopelessly lost, wandering through the forests of the Unknown, where they encounter strange characters and places. The boys have no idea how they ended up there, but as their journey unfolds, we discover they are from the modern world. After a Halloween scare, they'd clambered up a graveyard wall and jumped onto a set of train tracks. When an oncoming train startled them, they leaped off the tracks and rolled down a hill into a lake, knocking them both unconscious...until they woke up in the Unknown. Now, they must find their way home.

Wirt is an anxious and self-doubting teen who struggles to face uncertainty, and through his journey, he gains the self-confidence to take risks and better deal with the surprises of life, like his happy-go-lucky brother Greg does.

Eventually, Wirt loses hope of returning home, and death begins to consume him. Greg prepares to sacrifice himself to save Wirt, which causes Wirt to jump into action. As he frantically searches for Greg, Wirt falls into a dark, frozen lake and battles a raging snowstorm. When he finally faces his fear of the Beast, a dark force embodying despair, the brothers are able to return home.

ITU features three layers to represent the boys' descent into the Unknown - first, sink into the depths of icy clear color-shifting-pigment-swirled "water", then crack into a layer of black wax (the frozen lake of the Unknown), giving way to a foamy sorbet "snow" -- the snowstorm Wirt wanders into as the boys' story is nearly at a close.

Scented a special blend to evoke the most realistic winter rain in the forest. Cool, earthy mulch and dank wet notes mingle with fresh pine, woodsy cypress, winter rose, peppery betel leaf, moss, frosty ice, and soft hints of gooseberry. The scent is sealed into the bottom layer by the wax!
